Fans View: Bolton Overview and Ratings

Urakanine one of the regulars gives his views on last nights match and the ratings...................Over to you....
Arsenal were painful to watch in the first half. Gary Cahill poked one in on 8 minutes after a horrible defensive mix-up and botchy clearance from Gallas. Very unlike him, isn't it?
We could have scored after that but after missing a more than decent chance, Denilson unnecassarily chopped Lee down. Matt Taylor who had an awful night on Sunday, hit a strong effort, which Almunia was not going to palm out despite going the right way.
0-2.
Soon afterwards, Eduardo missed a sitter before heading one into Jaaskelainen's arms. Bolton nearly scored an own goal, Davis heading onto his own crossbar. Fortunately, we scored just one the stroke of half-time, Fabregas poking it to Rosicky, who took 2 touches and slammed a brilliant effort to Jaaskelainen's near post. Some say he could have done better but the shot was so early that he didn't anticipate it.
1-2, and GAME ON.
After a controversial foul by Gallas, Arshavin's little nudged pass went to Fabregas, who took it away from the 3 defenders, wiggling just enough space to place it through Jaaskelainen. It was a similar goal to the one Bergkamp scored against Man U in 04/05.
2-2.
In the 63rd minute, Cesc hit an absolute peach, only to see the possessed Jaaskelainen palm it away for a corner. From the corner, Bolton failed to clear and Diaby knocked it down for Vermaelen to hit a Shearer-esque effort, off the post and in. We then sealed it, when a fortunate bobble off Eduardo gave Arshavin just enough time to hit it past Jaaskelainen.

Player Ratings:
Almunia 6.5 : He isn't a nervous wreck anymore. Probably should have done better with the penalty.
Sagna 7.0 I still find him the better player in defence. He is very composed and we could do with him playing slightly more defensively.
Gallas 6.0 : A little bit of an "oops" moment in the first goal. Was rather poor and could not subdue Kevin Davies.
Vermaelen 6.5 : Ditto Gallas, and he only gets the extra points for his super goal.
Clichy 6.0 : Not a very sound return to football. He was unstable sometimes and could do with a good run-out against Stoke.
Denilson 5.5 : I wish I could give him more but he simply didn't do enough. Far from sound in his anchor position. He seems to be a link-up player more than a defender or a pure attacker. Conceded the penalty.
Fabregas 8.0 : This is why we love him, really. Besides his goal and the assist for the first, he had a few other pops at goal and a super freekick nearly gave Eduardo a goal. Captain's back, and so are we.
Diaby 7.5 : His performances of late are proving a real point. He started off rather unconfidently but eventually took the midfield as his. Made more than just a few recovery tackles.
Arshavin 8.0 : He really does push for every game. He supposedly has a very very very very very sore foot but he did really well as the second half started. Scored a goal, and used some that incredible Ronaldo-meg move, almost getting another goal for himself. Impressive.
Rosicky 7.5 : Really good goal. His arm-waving passes are pretty stunning and that was some delicious skill with his outside foot when he tried to cross it for Eduardo.
Eduardo 6.5 : Painful to watch him miss some good chances. However he has been creating lots in recent times and he did it again today.
Subs:
Eastmond 6.0 : This kid is seriously impressive. He wasn't nervy for the few minutes he was on for. Ironically, he might just be better other youngsters that we rate highly...
Carlos Vela 6.0 : He's finally starting to play for Arsenal. Hit the side-netting late on.
Theo Walcott N / A : Little Cameo. Probably could have had a goal if Arshavin had squared it for him. Was pretty pissed too.
Verdict:
Happy moments for Gooners. We are top of the league and here comes the nightmare run of games. COME ON YOU GUNNERS!
